Site Engine CMS

A brand new interface/back-end was developed for this hybrid textbook + website and extended across premium websites for Cengage Learning titles in 2008. Websites deliver chapter-based exercises and projects, streaming video, interactive quizzing, and eBooks.

I had the privilege of being the junior developer:

  • Wrote routine for parsing the site definition XML, which populates the content of a particular site. Helped formulate XML markup pattern.
  • Programmed portions of the underlying MVC javascript framework.
  • Developed audio glossaries and tabbed custom HTML driven/formatted playlists generated from memory using the JW Player API.
  • Project Managed and produced around 30 unique Site Engine sites. Wrote technical documentation and trained others on best production practices.
  • Co-designed UI and programmed loading and XML parsing routines of Resource Centers (uber-sites containing many smaller ones).
